Dr. F.C."Francois"
Lamothe was born in Louisiana.
He is a 1973 graduate
from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA. His degree
is Doctor of Dental Surgery. (DDS) |
An early interest in Public Health
Dentistry led him to assignments in Louisiana, the Province of Saskatchewan
in a children’s program and working with the native people
of Canada for the Federal Government in Saskatchewan.
In 1980, he met his wife at a conference in New York and after a
5 year private practice in Prince Albert, Sask., moved with her
back to New England in 1987. He set up a practice in Wells, Maine
in 1989 and worked there until he acquired the practice of Dr's.
Albright and Porter in Portsmouth in 2003. He has been serving Dr.
James Porter’s patients since then. Dr. Porter retired to
Florida. Dr. Albright continues to see his patients.
Dr. Lamothe is especially gratified when he can make the entire dental experience
more comfortable for his patients. He likes doing cosmetic dentistry
especially the one visit bonding procedures, which can dramatically
improve a smile in one visit. He is also well trained in Crowns,
Bridges and implant restorative procedures.
Dr. Lamothe lives in Wells, Maine with Cindel, his wife of over 25 years
and occasional visits from their two grown children. He
is active in local theater as President of Garrison Players in Dover,
with set designing and even acting. He is a pastel artist and painted
most of the artwork at the office.
In founding Portsmouth Dental Studios he has tried to create a patient-
friendly practice striving to provide quality, artistic dentistry
in a low-stress environment at a reasonable cost. |

Dr. Hunter is trained in implant dentistry and is continually in pursuit of new training opportunities that allow him to provide the best care for his patients. He strives to create a comfortable, low-stress atmosphere for his patients, and is a great source of comfort for patients who experience dental phobia.
In his free time, Dr. Hunter is an avid reader, likes rock climbing, cooking, and any chance to get outdoors with his wife and two sons to enjoy the seacoast. |
Our Office Staff
 |
Melodie
Hardy -Practice Administrator- will help
you when no one else knows the answer. With over 20 years dental
experience, she knows the policies and guidelines that help
a dental office run like a business. |
She says it’s a pleasure to
come to work each day when you’re working with such a friendly,
competent staff. Melodie and her husband, Dennis, live in Wells, Maine and
have 3 grown children and 2 granddaughters. Her spare time is spent
enjoying her family, gardening, reading, travel, sewing and outdoor sports
including kayaking, snow shoeing and mountain hiking. She is an
active volunteer in her church and community, and loves to cook and entertain. If you need to know
something about “all inclusive” destinations in the
Caribbean, she’s the office expert. |
 |
Deb -Patient Financial Co-ordinator- brought
over 20 years of dental experience when she started at Portsmouth
Dental Studios in 2004. She enjoys helping our patients with
their insurance questions. |
Her smiling face will be there when
you “check out” and she will make sure you leave the
office appointment with no question unresolved concerning your care.
She enjoys the atmosphere of this office. The friendliness of the
staff and patients is the best part of her work day. She grew up
a military brat and traveled a lot in the continental U. S. and
overseas. She likes New England best. She lives in Eliot with her
teenage son, Nick. Her older son, Ben, lives in Massachusetts. Reading
is her passion. She enjoys murder mysteries best. She is happiest
when surrounded by friends and family and loves to cook and entertain. Going to antique markets and finding
treasures is one of her favorite pastimes. |
 |
Diane -Patient Scheduling Co-ordinator- joined our team in 2009. She brings over 12 years of dental office experience to our practice. |
She lives in Greenland with her love Nina, the Plott Hound and enjoys activities with Nina as well as occasional horesback riding. Diane enjoys dinner and live music with friends and family. |

with her quick wit. |

Dr. Porter. She enjoys coming to work to an office filled with
smiles and laughter. |

lives in Greenland with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys time
with family and friends, and relaxing at their lake cottage.
 |
Mary joined our practice in 2012 to work with Dr. Hunter. She feels blessed to be working with such a compassionate and professional group of people. She looks forward to coming to work; there is always joy and laughter and they feel like family. |
Mary has been a Dental Assistant since 1979. Her favorite part of the job is developing relationships with her patients. They become like family. It is so rewarding to have a patient come in who is nervous and help them become comfortable and overcome their dental anxiety.
When she is not working you will find her spending time in church ministry, but her true passion is her family. She lives in Dover with her husband Tony. She has two grown children and an adorable grandson who has his "Grammy" wrapped around his finger! Mary loves to take cruise ship vacations to the Caribbean. Go Patriots! |

Dave works in Massachusetts and is originally from Wisconsin. He is a Packers fan but his saving grace is that he is also a Red Sox fan. Rhonda and Dave enjoy doing things in Portsmouth but also like to explore other cities. They will be training for The Pumpkin Man Mini Triathlon in September to work off "their" baby weight. Wish them luck! |

Dover with her husband and two young sons, and loves “hanging
out” with her family. |
